Tufts Managed Care Institute's (TMCI) mission is to provide physicians and other health care professionals with knowledge, skills and tools to adjust to the changing practice environment. Our goal is to enable them to practice comfortably and effectively in a high quality, cost-effective managed health care system. We achieve this by offering:
  • Care management educational solutions customized for health care organizations looking to increase their knowledge and improve the performance of their work force
  • Open-enrollment programs
  • Online curriculum and CD-ROMs on care management topics

Brief History

Founded in 1995 in Boston, Tufts Managed Care Institute is an independent, not-for-profit educational organization established as a collaborative venture of Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and Tufts Health Plan (THP). We are the first partnership between a medical school and network model health maintenance organization.
