Dr. Stan Bastacky is Chief, Medical and Dental Education Branch, Division of Medicine and Dentistry, Health Resources and Services Administration, Bureau of Health Professions, Division of Medicine.
Before joining the Division of Medicine, Dr. Bastacky served as Associate Director for Operations in the National Practitioner Data Bank program. He and several other staff "turned on the lights" in the Data Bank program in 1988 and were part of the opening of the Data Bank in 1990. During Dr. Bastacky's career, he served as Dental Clinical Coordinator for the National Health Service Corps in the Public Health Service Chicago Regional Office and as Special Assistant to the Administrator, Health Resources and Services Administration. To round out his career, Dr. Bastacky spent a year doing a Congressional Fellowship with the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee.
Dr. Bastacky is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he received his DMD degree, and holds a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
