Ruth Dolby
Ruth Dolby is President of Dolby Consulting Group. In her practice, Ms. Dolby concentrates on all aspects of physician practice management, including reimbursement strategies, office efficiencies, coding and compliance. Ms. Dolby trains and educates physicians and their staffs in coding and compliance as well as in documentation in either one-on-one settings or in seminar formats. As a former billing manager with over 18 years hands-on experience in small and large group practices, Ms. Dolby is well versed in coding for multiple medical and surgical specialties, including behavioral health. Ms. Dolby has an in-depth understanding of working in multi-cultural, multi-specialty neighborhood health centers. Ms. Dolby is a graduate of Simmons College.
L. William Katz, DBA
Bill Katz is President of Katz & Associates, Inc., a consulting organization specializing in assisting physician practices and institutional providers improve their businesses. He is currently working with physicians and their attorneys assessing compliance risks and developing compliance and plans and defending physicians accused of Medicare fraud and abuse. He also prepares business plans for new health care companies and reassesses managed care strategies for physician groups and hospitals. Dr. Katz is on the MBA Faculty at Assumption College, Worcester, MA, and has been on the faculty of The George Washington University, Boston University School of Medicine, and The University of Massachusetts. Dr. Katz received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and his DBA in finance and health care administration from George Washington University.
Mark Mengel, MD, MPH
Dr. Mengel is Program Director of the Family Practice Residency Program and Chair of the Department of Family Practice at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, which provides a "managed care laboratory" in which to teach. He is currently a full clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Mengel earned his MD degree at Harvard Medical and also holds a Masters Degree in Medical Management from the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. He is board certified in both family practice and preventive medicine.
Rosemarie Nelson
Rosemarie Nelson is Senior Market Development Manager, Office of the Future at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles, New York. In this role, she provides medical informatics expertise, which offers value to the development of the medical practice office of the future. Ms. Nelson brings experience in banking, information systems, and medical office management. She has published extensively on medical practices and information technology; quality of care and electronic medical records; practice management challenges; and the Internet and e-care. Ms. Nelson received her MS in Health Services Administration from Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy at The New School for Social Research, New York City.
James W. Saxton, Esquire
James Saxton is a partner in the Pennsylvania law firm of Stevens & Lee, a practice with more than140 lawyers in 9 offices throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania. Mr. Saxton is a Senior Member of the firm's Health Care Focus Group and is Chairman of the firm's Health Care Litigation Group. His practice has been focused on the representation and protection of health care providers and payers in litigation claims and has counseled them on practice and risk management issues. He has authored numerous articles, several handbooks and two textbooks. He holds a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
Robert Serban
Robert Serban is the Administrator for Charter Professional Services management services organization for hospital-owned physician groups in Peabody, MA. He oversees 21 physicians, 60 additional staff members, and a corporate billing office with 10 employees. These groups are heavily involved in capitated contracts and risk sharing. Previously, at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, he was involved in the management of customer-physician relations, electronic claims submissions, data input and utilization reviews. Since leaving Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mr. Serban has managed a number of private medical groups. Mr. Serban earned his BA degree in Business Administration from the University of Virginia.
