Conference Goal

| This conference is designed to
provide institutional GME committee members, program directors
and GME teaching faculty access to current practices, innovations,
and research opportunities in ACGME competency assessment. The
program will emphasize assessment in 4 of the 6 competence areas:
Systems-based Practice, Practice-based Learning and Improvement,
Interpersonal Skills and Communication, and Professionalism.
The conference will feature plenary addresses by national experts
and workshops on practical topics, with an emphasis on active
learning.

| Conference Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of
this conference, participants will be able to:
- Describe practical methods of incorporating
ACGME competency assessment into curriculum including rotational
objectives.
- Describe and apply practical and effective assessment
approaches for the ACGME competencies.
- Identify and incorporate experiences
from other programs and institutions in developing implementation
plans for assessing the ACGME competencies.
- Identify opportunities for research and
scholarship examining the relationship between educational
approaches and their impact on health outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies for faculty development
regarding the ACGME competencies.
