Program Goal

Learn to identify and apply appropriate imaging strategies for common medical conditions.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify imaging algorithms for common medical problems.
  • Evaluate and assess the tools and techniques for applying appropriate imaging strategies.
  • Define and apply new imaging tools such as PET scanning, ultrafast helical CT, and advancing MRI techniques in the diagnosis of life threatening disorders such as pulmonary embolism, coronary artery disease and colon cancer.
Format

This unique one-day course promotes practical and cost-effective approaches to imaging for common symptoms and signs and the prudent use of new technologies.

  • The program format is a series of presentations designed around a specific region of the body or associated with a contemporary topic in imaging strategies.
  • Learning continues during lunch at roundtable conversations, where participants have an opportunity to choose the table with the clinical topic of interest to them. At each, an internist or family physician will present and interact with an imaging specialist around specific case studies related to that clinical topic.
  • CME accreditation for 7.5 hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award is pending.

This conference represents the collaboration of primary care "gate keepers" and "high-tech" specialists. Both cultures have much to learn from each other.

Location

The Hyatt Regency Cambridge offers a beautiful setting along the Charles River, adjacent to MIT, and central to Harvard and Boston University.

Attendees will be provided with parking stickers on the day of the event.
